1 R2F Montague Rapidan Bamboo Fly Rod 7 1/2\' Exc Cond For Sale

Two piece two tip 1 R2F Montague Rapidan Bamboo Flyrod, 7 - 1/2\' with reverse half Wells cork grip (2/2 configuration, 3-piece). The cork is original and the patina has not been removed. This rod is very nice. Most of the original oval Montague Rapidan sticker remains. The varnish is nice and smooth. The silk windings appear excellent. Original green canvas sock with flap, rope tie, and individual pouches for each piece. Rod pieces are straight and ferule insert connections snug with the signature air \"pop\" when removed. It is my understanding this dates to 1934 - 1939. Note: I have the original black spiral wound tube however it was damaged years ago by a careless mover. Fortunately I had removed the rods and canvas cover and put them in a safe place. The 1R2F ID and MONTAGUE ROD and REEL COMPANY is clearly marked (caps and small lettering as shown on label). I will send the original tube along to preserve the integrity of the set origin.

I\'ve recently retired and have settled in to Walleye fishing in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so am downsizing items I\'m not using. Acquired this many years ago and tucked it away: want to put this into a trout fisherman (woman\'s) hands to enjoy. Take this right to the stream, or if you insist put it on your wall. Also a nice gift.
