Originalemerald / green\"Novagem\"from the \"Tower of Jewels\"at the 1915 Panama-Pacific InternationalExposition / World\'s Fair, in San Francisco, California.

47mm (1-14/16\") diameterAustrian-made glass mirror-backedemerald / green-colored \"jewel\" mounted inbrass frame, with attached 15/16\" diameter original brass \"From the Tower of Jewels\" medallion. This size jewel was sold for $1.00 during the exposition, andpurchasers wereissued a certificate to claim their \"jewel\"when they were removed from the Tower of Jewels after the exposition closed. The green Novagems were used to decorate the large sphere at the very top of the 435-foot high tower andisone of thenicer examplesof agreen Novagem, since they hung on the Tower of Jewels for almost a year during 1915 andwere bangedaround in the strong winds. Small edge-chips at left & right edges, adjacent to the mounting frame. A rare & collectible item from my personal collection in a smoke & pet-free home.

Novagem is invery goodcondition, withsmall edge chipsto gem, no damage tomirror. Minor age wear & flea-bites.(see images).
