We are offering an amazing set of five (5), adorable and we believe very hard to find as a set. They are the composition Effanbee Tinyette baby doll Quint Set from the mid-1930\'s. According to the composition reference books there were several companies that were in competition with Alexander to make the Quints sets including many less known doll companies, however Alexander was the only one authorized to do the Dionne\'s. There is reference to one of the Effanbee sets in the Collector\'s Encyclopedia of American Composition Dolls 1900-1950 by Ursula R. Mertz. An Effanbee set seems to be more rare & harder to find perhaps because there were less of them made? and Effanbee did not have the authority to sell them as the Dionne Quints. These dolls are approximately 7- 7 1/2\" in length (depending on how you measure them) with baby curved legs just like the crib crowd baby dolls made by Vogue. All the dolls are marked in the back \"Effanbee Baby Tinyette\" and Effanbee on their heads. They were made in the mid 1930\'s. The have jointed arms, legs and neck & painted features. There are NO repaints, refurbishing or restoration; except that they may have been restrung as the old rubber bands sometimes gave way a long time ago. Their composition is in amazing condition for its age, especially their bodies and limbs, but they do show when photographed some fine lines in the composition on their heads. This is not something you see right away when you look at the dolls but only upon close inspection; except for one baby that does have a small crack across the mouth (one looking at the photo on the far right which you can see) which is noticeable. The faces and bodies other than what has been mentioned seem to be in extremely nice condition; almost a silky finish, considering their age and we see very little if any crazing or lines on them.

They will come to you just as we purchased them from the original owner with no restoration done by us nor the original owner. Included are the composition set of 5 dolls, diapers, robes, glass white bottles, Esmond? blanket with the little diapers and bows pinned on to it and 5 amazing and rather rare dress sets (two are tagged Mollyee\'s, or Molly-e\'s, see pic). Mollye\'es made a lot of the clothing for Shirley Temple and other early composition dolls. Here you get the 5 dress sets which are all different prints. Included is the bonnet for each outfit with long organdy ties (original), dress and light cotton under slip. None of these have been washed or repaired. We prefer to leave them alone as we feel they look great and any minor aging adds to the charm.We\'ll leave it up to the new owner whether they want to do any freshening. The slips may show some creaming and age wear (they were a bit more crudely made than the dresses themselves which are very detailed in our opinion)as they are a light cotton. All the dresses are fine and still retain their nice colors without any noticeable fading or issues other than some slight age soiling to some of the trim (all can be seen in our pictures, although we think the set is much nicer in person). The outfits will come to you in the small clear lid boxes so you can display them with your dolls; exactly the way we displayed them. We will package the dolls with no clothing and other items; ie, bottles robes, etc. separately then all in one box for you so you can make the decision on what to dress them in and how to display. We have taken many photos and hope that you can see everything. This is an amazing and very unique set that we have really enjoyed and has survived all the years. Mertz composition book she shows a photo of a set like this in the trunk with lots of accessories but it is difficult to see all the detail; ours is not in a trunk and has the add\'l Mollye\'s wardrobe. Please view all the photos of this RARE EFFANBEE QUINT SET with the ORIGINAL WARDROBE shown. We have taken lots of photos so you can see details. These dolls have not been treated with any concealer or any other product and still retain a nice overall finish with any exceptions noted above. If you love the Quint dolls and want a rarer set, these may be for you. They are so darn cute and display beautifully. We\'ll be listing an add\'l wardrobe made by Molly\'es that came with these dolls in case you want some add\'l clothes.

This beautiful set has been in our collection for years; although we are collector\'s of Ginny and other dolls we had never seen such a beautiful set before and had to buy it to enjoy. Add\'l Photos & Details: Outfits measures approximately (ever so slightly over) 3\" in length from top of shoulder area to hem. Two are tagged; all are made by Molly-e\'s; identical styles but different prints and colors as shown. None have ever been washedor repaired that we see; we don\'t think they need it but will leave that decision up to the new owner. Organdy on some has aged/creamed but nodeterioration of fabric. Dolls and outfits over 80+ years old. We did note some paint finish wear/rubs to a few of the dolls feet and a little on the fingers which is typical of theEffanbee dolls. All dolls are marked. Outfit boxes are just display boxes, not marked and not what they outfits came in original in the 1920-30\'s; we don\'t believe they were ever sold in outfit boxes. These outfits will also fit dolls like the 7 1/2\" Alexander compo Dionne Quints, Sunshine Babies and Crib Crowd dolls made by Vogue and others of similar size. No reproduction, no new.
