1950\'S TIN WINDUP SPACE COMMANDO ROBOT WORKS NOMURA ISHIZUKA JAPAN For Sale

I\'m selling a very nice tin windup Space Commando robot made by Nomura/ Ishizuka of Japan. The robot measures 7 1/2 inches or 19 centimeters high and he is complete and all original with the exception of the plastic helmet worn over the robot\'s head. (Many reproductions are available for the helmet or dome.) The robot is in very good, played with condition. The robot is completely original with no touchups or repaints. The Nomura and Ishizuka marks are on either side of the robot\'s tanks. The surface of the tin has a nice gloss with the occasional rub or scratch in the paint. The colors are strong. At some point in the robot\'s life, someone scratched the name \"Nickie\" in the bottom of the robot\'s right foot (see photo #11) The robot\'s left hand has a bend in it; I would rather not try to fix it but I think it would be a very simple thing to bend the hand back. The windup works well, when wound, the robot shuffles along while moving his left arm in a walking motion. The right arm holding the rifle remains still when the robot is in motion, which is what it is supposed to do, I believe. This is a nice, nearly complete robot from the golden age of Japanese tin robots; it is not perfect but it is in very nice condition.
