DESCRIPTION: Great-sounding/neat looking 1950\'s vintage Valco National Chicago 51 tube amp.
Serial #X25609, which dates this to 1951.
Art deco faceplate with original white “chickenhead” pointer knobs.
Estimated output is 10 watts.
Original 10” speaker.
This model features three input jacks and tone and volume controls rather than the single jack and volume-only control found on many similar Valcos from the same era.
Recently purchased for the estate of a musician.
Just serviced by the highly-regarded local Echoluxe Guitar & Amp Repair shop—they gave it a cap job; resurfaced, de-oxed, and cleaned the inputs; and cleaned and de-oxed the pots, tube pins and sockets. CONDITION: Fully functional working condition after servicing (see video/service bill). There is expected wear to the tweed. The leather handle is missing, but replacements can be found online. Excellent original grill cloth. There are four small screw holes on the back where an additional input plate was added, but our tech removed that addition, leaving only the four small holes (see photos). The volume control knob is cracked on one side but stable (see photo). A grounded plug has been installed for safety.
