This listing is a late 19th or early 20th century French bronze figural sculpture of a young woman holding an armful of fresh cut wheat by Auguste Moreau. The figure measures 21 ½ inches or 54.6 cm high.

The sculpture features a young woman walking in an outside setting and holding a bunch of wheat under one arm and holding a few sprigs in the other. She wears a diaphanous dress and flowers in her hair. The sculpture has a dark brown patina or color. At the front of the base is a plaque which reads “CYBELLE”. It is signed on the side of the base by her foot “AUG. MOREAU”, this for Auguste Moreau (1834-1917), who sculpted many bronzes of genre scenes, pastorals, and allegories.

The figure is in good condition with no breaks or cracks. The patina has minor variations. Please see the many photographs for more on the look and condition as they are an important part of the description.
