#2296W 1957 CANADIAN PACIFIC PASSENGER SET. ALL BOXES, PAPER, SMALL PARTS, ETC.:
$3000.00

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION

A very complete, nice but not perfect, rare#2296 Canadian Pacific F3passenger set, made in 1957 only.

It is complete with all boxes, what I believe to be all paperwork and small parts, and Super O track.

Itis all original with noreproduction parts.

The engines havebeencleaned andlubed with Labelle teflon grease and oil, and tuned up.

The engine runs like new with no E unit problems or buzz.

The horn works wellwith the correct tone.

As shown in the pics, the mechanical and electrical components inside are clean and shiny with a nice patina on the plated parts.

The pickup rollers on the engines or cars showlittle wear, indicating low run time.

There are a fewpaint chips and scratches on the engine cabs and one has a fine scratch or crack at the top of the headlight, as shown in the pics.

Thecars all have the original stripes with some of the brown glue residue showing around the edges here and there, as they should have. The window strips are also all original.

There are a few marks on the aluminum car bodies and minor paint wear on the ends, also as shown in the pics.

All of the boxeshave all of their flaps intact, except for one of the 2552 boxes which is missing the coupler flap on one end and hashad the outer flap on that end re-attached. Three of the car boxes are close in color and the orange on thother is a little lighter.

The seam tape on the powered unit box is somewhat frayed.

The boxes look to me to range from a 7 to 8 on a scale of 1 to 10.

In my estimation, the set box is about a 7 ona scale of 1 to 10 with some skinning, tape residue, and a few dings.

All of the paper items are nice, including the scarce billboards.

The paper items are:

  • 1957 catalog
  • 1957 Accessory catalog
  • \"How to operate Lionel Trains And Accessories\" with 1975 copyright.
  • How to assemble \"Super O\" track dated 10-57.
  • 1956-1957 \"Lionel Service Stations\"
  • Set of 1957 billboards which have been cut apart.

All of the track accessories are in great condition with no rust or corrosion.

They are:

  • #61 ground lockon
  • #62 power lockon
  • #37-25 uncoupling section
  • #81-32 wire (3)

Some of the track pieces have oxidation, but in general they are nice.

There are :

  • curve (12)
  • straight (7)
  • insulated track (1)

Allin all, this is a really honest, very completeexample of a scarce set with some play wear.

Due to \'s picture policy of only allowing 12 pictures, I couldn\'t post pictures of the engine and car boxes, but I have high resolution pics of all, if needed.

Look atthe pictures and make your own determination of grade.

Due to the fragile nature of these items, I will only ship insured for the amount of the winning offer.

Due to the weight and box size, I would anticipate shipping by Priority Mailto be in the $40 to $50 range, depending on the high buyer\'s zip code.

I will send an invoice to the winning buyer including actual freight cost at sale end.

I never charge any \"handling charges\" or upcharge on freight.
