The best tool on the market for removing and replacing the mainspring in the 400 day clock barrel!
No more stories about springs bounding out of control and slashing through various body parts!
Easy and safe to clean, polish, lightly oil and replace mainspring into the barrel.
as we say \"one picture better than 1000 words\"
take a look on youtube is so easy and fun!!!!
Thismainspring winder is for full size 400 day clock !
The sleeve is for full size barrel.
For the miniature 400 day clock barrel you will need a smaller diameter sleeve.
We have modernized our tool by offering three new sleeves.
Now it can be used on the barrels for the 1000-day clock, 400-day full size clock and a 400-day miniature clock. The tool can be used on the barrels of English spring driven clocks as well.
We drilled a set of 2 holes above the current ones just 0.4 inches higher for the crank line up with the center of the large barrel the 1000-day barrel arbor hole. The 1000-day barrels are just slightly over 2 inches in diameter and it fits comfortably in the clamp.
The crank is attached to the holder with a removable screw.
So whenever you need to work with a large barrel, just remove the screw and re-fit the crank to the set of 2 holes above the current ones.
Than attach the holder to the crank, realign the holes, put the screw in the holes and secure with a nut.
Now you are ready to work with Dia. 2.00 in. barrel.
Our pictures will show you the three barrels and the modification made to the winder. The large and small barrels are not included.
1. Thank you for offering a reasonably priced mainspring winder but I need to know the shipping cost to Australia before activating Pay Pal. Thank you,
2.Hello there
I have already commented on your mainspring winders
Unfortunately, in the UK, I could not get the same copper sleeve as you used
I overcame the problem by going to a car breakers yard and getting several pieces, various sizes, off old exhaust pipes.
In your commentary, on version 2, you say easy enough for a 12 year old to use.
As I am now in my 91st year, I am a little older; but I too found the making, and using it, very easy indeed
A really Great BIG THANK YOU
Best wishes

Did you design it yourself? I received it a few days ago, but just tonight had some time to play with it. I thought I\'d start by removing a 19x38 spring from the barrel. How do you suggest securely holding the barrel in place without chewing up either the teeth, or the side of the barrel? I wrapped the side of the barrel a couple of times with electrical tape, which did the job. I got the spring out with no problems. However, I\'m having trouble putting it back in the barrel. I\'m thinking the hook may need a little notch in it to hook the spring better. Any suggestions, or have you written any instructions for it\'s use? Thanks, Chris
5.Wow! Pretty damn smart....and cheap! :)
