ANGLO-BOER - WWI MEDALS, DSO, QUEEN\'S SUDAN, KHEDIVES, EGYPTIAN RAILWAYS
Description: This sale is for a group of medals awarded to one officer from the Anglo-Boer War thru 1920. The medals include the D.S.O., Queen\'s Sudan Medal, 2 Khedives Sudan Medals, The British War Medal 1914-1920, The Allied Victory Medal 1914-1919, and an exceedingly RARE NAMEDSolid Gold Egyptian State Railways Medal (tests at a minimum 14K, may be higher karat and weighs 14.9 grams). This NamedEgyptian StateRailways medal is numbered and this is # 10 and has the name CAPT.G.C.M. HALL. These medals were purchased from a New Jersey estate. We are not experts in medals so we have supplied detailed photographs. All the medals being sold in the four lots beingoffered on this weekwere awarded toand owned byLt. Col. Size: The case measures approx. 16.7 cm. (6 5/8\") long x 14.5 cm. (5 3/4\") wide.
Age:The dates on the medals vary from 1897 - 1920.
Condition: The DSO has some small losses to the enameling. The rest of the medals have light wear, oxidation and small dings commensurate with age. Please see all photographs as they are an integral part of the description.

\"HALL, George Clifford Miller ,
Lieut., was born 26 Jan. 1872,
son of the late Capt. W. H. Hall, RN. He entered the Royal Engineers 12 Feb. 1892; became Lieutenant 12 Feb. 1895; Major 19 Dec. 1902, and Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel. He served with the Nile Expedition, 1897 (Egyptian Medal with clasp; 4th Class Medjidie); again with the Nile Expedition, 1898 (Despatches [London Gazette, 9 Dec. 1898]; Medal).
He was created a Companion of the Distinguished Service Order [London Gazette, 16 Dec. 1898]: \"George Clifford Miller Hall, Lieut., Royal Engineers. In recognition of services during the recent operations in the Sudan.\" He has the Order of the Nile, 2nd Class, and the ~rd Class Osmanieh. He was formerly Traffic Manager, Egyptian State Railways.
He married (1st), in 1901, Genevieve (who died in 1902), daughter of J. B. Stickney, of St. Augustine, Florida, and in 1906 he married (2ndly) Annie E. M., daughter of the late Fitzroy Kelly, M.A., of Lincoln\'s Inn, and they
