ANTIQUE 1868 PATENT SEWING MACHINE - S/N# 32 ? - PATENTED BY STEPHEN FRENCH For Sale

This sale is for an old sewing machine in as found - uncleaned condition. On one of the sliding plates it states \" PATENTED JULY 28 1868 \" on the bottom of the other sliding plate \"32\". I am not sure if \"32\" is the serial # or not - see close up photo with shuttle to see where it is stamped. I believe this was patented by STEPHEN FRENCH - see photo of patent - not sure who the maker is though. Machine is in pretty good shape - I do not see any cracks or breaks - it turns freely and appears to work as it should. It does suffer from some paint loss as seen in the photos.
