ANTIQUE LACHENAL & CO. LONDON 48 KEY ENGLISH CONCERTINA - A440 PITCH - ROSEWOODHi. This listing is for a beautiful 48-button concertina by Lachenal & Co., London. Serial number is 36740 and it dates late 19th Century. Rosewood ends. Brass (and some mixed steel) reeds.The pitch has been changed to A440 at some point of its life. Comes with a nice original case.
CONDITION:Concertina comes in good cosmetical condition for its age with only light wear to the wood and some light blemishes to bellows. All buttons work and produce sound. Some of the buttons are out of tune and pitch needs an adjustment. Some of the reeds are rusty and needs to be replaced or refurbished. Couple of the valve pads require attention as two notes can be heard while all keys are depressed.Bellows are air tight. Original wooden case is in good condition, only small damage to the base corner.PLEASE NOTE: this instrument will be sold AS IS, in need of TLC.
