Antique 1882 New Departure Charles Mayer Snare DRUM 16”.
In great shape and all original. Nothing has been repaired. See pic #12 that shows a 1/2” tear in one of the heads.
Inside labels read “The New Departure Drum. Patented by G. S. Knapp Feb. 28, 1882” and “Charles Mayer & Co. Importers & Jobbers Fancy Goods, Toys & Notions 29 - 31 West Washington St. Indianapolis, Indiana”.
Approximately 16” X 7” to 7 1/2”. Adjusting the brass straps would make the height the same all around but it might impair the patina in the small area under one of the heads.
Eight strings but one is mostly long gone, see pic #8.
Brass and steel fittings. No rust. The wood looks like cherry, but I am not sure. The metal side is brass or copper.
Postage would vary depending on where buyer resides. I would estimate postage between $20 and $55 domestically. buyer may contact seller to receive a postage cost. Successful buyer should wait for an invoice before paying. It will have actual postage cost.
NO INTERNATIONAL SALES.
