Antique Catawba ValleyAlkaline Glazed1/2 Gallon Preserve JarNorth Carolina Pottery
We arevery pleased to offer an unusual Catawba Vally, North carolina pottery jar. The jar is a hand thrown medium ovoid shaped jar with a wax seal lip. The jar has beautiful rutile through out the piece allowing a very fluid variation of dark and light browns to black and blue highlights. The jar is well turned and has the desirable \"pearls\" of quartz through out the body of the clay. Catawba Valley pottery is known for its mineral content and pieces of quartz rock that show through the akaline glaze as when it is fired in the wood fired groundhog kiln. This is a fine example of this pottery. The jar is 7 1/2\" tall, 4 / 3/4\" wide at the base and 3 7/8\" wide at the mouth. Wonderful piece of southern utilitarian pottery!
Condition: Wonderful condition with only a few small fleabites on the outer rim. There are no repairs or hairlines. This item is a utilitarian piece of pottery which shows some light wear on the base and a small glaze pop on the bottom edge from firing.Please use photos for absolute condition and contact us with any questions before you offer.

Shipping: NO HANDLING FEE!An email will be sent when your item has shipped. Shipping will be in new boxes with double boxing for fragile items and pottery. We pack and ship carefully and provide insurance at our expense within the United States. Shipping within the U.S. will be made through USPS Priority, Parcel Select or FEDEX Home Delivery and is estimated through the shipping calculator. If you have chosen Parcel Select we will upgrade your shipping to Priority if cost is the same or less. Some purchases may require an indirect or direct signature from a courier depending on value and location. Please be aware that destinations in Alaska and Hawaii may take longer to arrive via Parcel Post than estimated times that are provided.
Payments– Must be made by PayPal within 48 Hours at end of sale. North Carolina Customers will add sales tax.
Canadian buyers:No handling fee but shipping will be calculated for your location. Canadian shipping will be through USPS International Priority or 1st class USPS (if specifically requested & under 4 pounds). All paperwork will be properly processed. If an item is restricted I will cancel the order. All Dues, Fees, and customs charges for shipment are the responsibility of the buyer.
International buyers: Shipping will be through USPS Priority International only to insure the customer proper tracking during shipping.
