Up for your consideration this week is this gorgeous German Violin, it istruly antique and from a great period of German Violin Making, the instrument was unglued, very dirty and with important cracks to the top plate when we received it so it went trough a complete and complex restoration process here at our workshop. The result despite the long crack a treble side (full body length crack) and another bass crack, is really amazing, this is one of the most beautiful and good sounding instruments we have had the pleasure of offering here on in a long time and its quality is rare to find in this marketplace and more in a sale. This violin is a true jewel of the old school, the varnish presents a very nice patina and is completely original, thenatural ageing process gave to it a mature, handsome and intensely interesting appearance apart from its wood selection which is of the Finest Order and is now perfectly seasoned and dry after more than 150 years of being around!!! so is the sound... mature, perfectly balanced, warm and complex, elegant, not too bright and not too dark, seasoned.
