Item Description:

• (Used) Antique W H Howell Co Travel Sad Iron - Self Heating
• Neat little self hating iron, it is turned upside down and balanced on the center post. Wood alcohol is added to the cap and lit which heats the iron. There is a paper like coating lining the cap, maybe this acts as a wick?
• Apparently this design also incorporates an inner flame which is fed by incoming air through the hole in the center of the cap. When the flame goes out, the iron is \"hissing hot.\"
• Wear to the nickel plating and surface oxidation. The handle can be pulled completely out but for the most part holds tight.
