This listing is for a circa 1930s, French, Art Deco bronze patina, spelter, figure of a panther signed by Max LeVerrier. The bronze is mounted on a black slate base; the base is 15 inches or 38.1 cm wide. The bronze mounted on the base is 6 ½ inches or 16.5 cm high.

It features the large cat in mid-stride with its mouth partially open and its tail curly slightly behind it. The figure has a green patina or color, which is all original to the piece. The back foot is marked “MADE IN FRANCE”, and it is signed on the base “M. LE VERRIER”, this for the prolific French sculptor Max LeVerrrier (1891-1973).

The figure is in excellent and all original condition, as is the black slate base. There are minor age appropriate variations to the patina. Please see the many photographs for more on the look and condition as they are an important part of the description.
