C.G. Conn Super Rare Flute #3153 dated 1898 Solid Silver Body Museum piece:
$220.49

Ok,
What do I have here? I\'m no antique instrument expert but this seems to be a very rare special order musical instrument . A C.G. Conn, Meyer flute that needs your help to make it a show piece! Numbered on the long key and on the rim of the body #3153 which seems to date this to 1898 per Conn website. The sections all are solid coin silver! ( I made a small scratch on the cork section and it\'s solid!) The keys Gold on copper. Ebonite mouth section.

The long key is broken, but pieces are there. My local music shop repairman was flabbergasted when I brought this in, as in his long time in instrument repair he has never seen one. He said the long key can be repaired, however he did point out that there was a missing small key see pic #8.Value? Hell I don\'t know 3, 30, 300, 3000? I\'d like to see it when it\'s finished as it will look better than the ones I saw online researching this at the National Music Museum\'s site! Below is a online comment from a fella who helped out for your reference starting point. Any info of importance from ers will be added to the question section. Instrument comes in original box lined in velvet. Box lid is detached as velvet held it together and is now separated.
Best regards,
Bob

Check out National Music Museum\'s conn flutes. Up to 1914 they\'re inscribed \"CG Conn\", after that \"CG Conn Ltd\" and your logo is more elaborate than those from 1890\'s. They only have Boehm type flutes, from 1892 and on. If Meyer type flutes were the predecessors of Boehm system and Conn started his business late 1870\'s I would guess your flute could very well be from 1880\'s. If they were produced in parallel (Meyer and Boehm systems), why is it so hard to find any Meyer type conns? You have something really rare, that\'s for sure! I think ebonite was in use back then (which I guess the mouth piece is made of)
