A highly desirable early Chinese fan
A superbly carved andpierced fan that dates from the late 18th century.
It was made purely for export to the West through the old China trade.
The fan is decorated withthe intricate and delicate piercing and carving typical of the workmanship ofthis period. The skill needed to carve such detail is mind boggling! Carved toboth sides.
The fan measures7.5“long.
Very good condition.There are some minor losses to the background filaments, some minor - all mentioned for accuracy and visible in the images.
