Ca. 1860s CIVIL WAR 6th PLATE TINTYPE ARMED UNION INFANTRY OFFICER in UNION CASE Offered is a Civil War 6th plate tintype of a armed Union Infantry Officer. Looks to be a 2nd Lieutenant. This is a seated view of the soldier. Housed in a thermoplastic (erroneously called gutta perchas) UNION case designated BERG 3 - 131 GEOMETRIC.A few spots of rust and light nicks to the surface. I did not note any bends in the main body of the image. Typical mat wear and little mat burn as well. A little bit of bubbling noted on the surface. Case shows a few edge nicks or dings. Has functional closure that holds tight and just a touch of play in the hinges. Nice image. Please see all images for details.I\'ve been listing from several hundred images of Civil War images.
