These disks have coarse, medium, and fine polishing abilities.The disks mount on mandrels. Depending on how badly the pivot is grooved,
the job can be completed from start to nearly mirror finish in less than two minutes.
The procedure does not require a high skill level or practice.
Mount the wheel in the lathe. If it is badly grooved, start with the coarse disk inserted in a Dremel® tool.
Run your coarse Disk 1 at a speed up to 15,000 rpm. In a quarter minute or so, the pivot will have a matte finish.
Then apply the medium Disk 2 for another quarter minute to get a dull polish.
Finally, zap the pivot for a few seconds with the fine Disk 3 to get a mirror finish.
No messy rouge required! With the wheel still in the lathe,
wipe the pivot with a cloth or paper towel dampened with alcohol to remove residue.
