Click to View Image Album ** Chinese Painted Silk Fan, Mounted, Circa 19th Century. Brown tinted silk finely painted with brown and black pigments, depicting grapevines with beautiful shading and precise details. Calligraphy in upper corner with two red seal marks and seal mark along the bottom edge. Mounted upon a cream colored silk damask ground with a repeating phoenix, dragon, flower and vine design, backed with a thick white paper. The back contains a wax export seal and writing from previous owners.
HEIGHT of Fan in Center: 21.8 cm (8.6 in), WIDTH Approximately: 23.5 cm (9.3 in), Size of Silk and Paper Mount: 47.6 cm x 36.3 cm (18.7 in x 14.3 in)
CONDITION: Old repairs, wear, staining and fading to silk fan. Wear and stains to silk mount with some bends and separation at corners. (SEE PHOTOS BELOW)
