Wood frame with snake skin coverings on either end. Skin held down with small wood pegs. Burnt wood design. Very rustic and primitive construction.

Sound is not very loud. A few rattling beads/pods/something inside that make a soft rattiling sound when shaken (just a little rattling - not a lot of noise like maracas.)

About 5-1/2\" tall. Diameter 4-1/2\".
