Extremely RARE Rockwell-Collins 451S-1 Receiver Serial #002:
$25000.00

This is a very RARE Rockwell Collins 451S-1 Receiver. CCA Excellent + Condition. Serial #002. Only 10 were ever made.
I\'m not going to bang the drum.... if you are looking at this sale, you already know about the rarity of this receiver. Also included is copy of the schematics and a factory originalpower cable.Non smoking shack. This piece is part of my personal collection which I am slowly selling off tosave my XYL to trouble of having to do so herself when the time comes.
Completely gone through by Jim Maccani in January, 2010, the original Rockwell Engineer on the 451S-1 project. His notes below from his repair.
I\'ve had the radio on now for a few days to be sure there are no surprises.
The oscillator was 300HZ off but that has been recalibrated with my Motorola
service monitor. Checked a number of frequencies over 30MHz and the
sensitivity is very good along with calibration. Option 1 has the 140Hz
filter and option 2 has the 3KHz filter, standard on the 451S. Replaced C6
(33ufd-25v) on power supply board and the 1400ufd electrolytic on the
chassis. The receiver works as well or better than mine.

The S9 level is at +40db point on the meter for reference. The sticker on
the back that says Eng-Model was put on by someone to better identify the
status. I have not seen that on any others and mine does not have that
sticker. I would think you could discard this as it was for some personal
reference only. Your 451S-1 was one of the 10 built on the pilot line.

I noticed that the display still had the 1/2 inch spacers and I changed them
to 3/8 inch spacers per SIL 2-88 for the 380. This gives you better upper
angle visibility of the display. I put a copy of the SIL in the schmatic
binder in with the receiver.

I tried to figure out why the C6 cap blew up on the power supply board and I
think someone put 220 volts momentarily on the receiver when it was strapped
for 115 or 125. Looking at the schematic tells me this is the only way it
could have happened. Normally there would be 14.5 volts on the cap but at
220 or 240 that voltage would have been double and the cap is only rated for
25vdc. At least that is my explanation.
