Fender Princeton Reverb 1966 all original with original footswitch Excellent:
$1700.00

This is my 1966 Fender Princeton Reverb. Not a reissue! I\'m a little over specific with descriptions but If your interested the info is here:) Very good cosmetically with a small area where tolex bubbled on lower right side not noticeable from a foot away. Easy fix with some contact cement just not an issue no tears just some dried out glue, grille cloth has aged as it should over 38 years with no tears and looks awesome and no tears or pulls. Electronically superb. Tubes are all excellent, pots recently cleaned, all tube sockets tight, original footswitch works perfectly, reverb and tremolo are superb. Transformers date correct. The speaker was upgraded with a Weber Ferromax 125 which turns it in to a far superior player. The original Jensens were far from a great driver and the Weber with it\'s higher efficiency gives you way more headroom with the same wonderful tone you expect from the Princeton. If your looking you know what this amp is; 15 watts, 10\" speaker, (2) 6V6 power tubes, (3) 12AX7s. (1) 12 AT7 and a 5U4GB Rectifier tube. Now a players perspective: I\'ve been playing professionally for 50 years now. In that time I\'ve played or owned about everything that\'s come out. I\'ve owned 36 Fender Tweed, Blackface and Silverface amps; Deluxe Reverbs, Super Champs, Bassmans...lots of Bassmans, Super Reverbs, Champs, Vibrochamps and on and on. Also Marshalls, Oranges, Rivera\'s, Bogners, again on and on. This Princeton Reverb is the best sounding Princeton I have ever played and far superior to anyh of my Deluxes, Vibroverbs, or Supers. I would compare it to my favorite Bassman but with reverb. Prior to the Weber going in I wouldn\'t have used it with the band in any of the larger clubs. Now, it\'s no problem. Stays clean up to 5 then slowly creams out as you increase the volume. I don\'t use an overdrive pedal and am perfectly happy when I wind the Princeton up above 7. It has excellent sustain at low volumes and keeps you honest with your armature. It sings. The reverb is delicious. Only way to describe it. The tremolo is as it should be, and I love it. Please feel free to ask any questions in advance. Why am I selling it? I don\'t use it often enough and I don\'t keep any amp or guitar that I don\'t play frequently. It\'s too nice and if I was to take it out regularly I would have to roadcase it, I play all the time and we travel hard. I use a Rivera Fandango as my main stage rig with a Revsound RS212G cab. It takes a beating. The Princeton needs to be played, appreciated, and enjoyed. It deserves that. Whoever wins this amp will not be disappointed. I\'ve played many of these and this is the one I chose to keep around, none of the others sounded close to this good.

48 years old. A straight up amazing Princeton. Every time I plug in it\'s just so fine.

I will ship it with a solid state rectifier, the 5UGB that is in it (which is no danger; plate voltages and transformer op voltages are within spec, or a 5AR4. It\'s all personal preference. That said it straight with the 5UGB and sound the way I like it and holds up in a club setting with a strong drummer and most excellent bass player. I\'ll put up some links to solo clips tomorrow. It will not be relisted and the reserve is appropriate for what it is. Straight out of the box good tone with tons of headroom and relatively light even with the Weber. I would probably load the Creamback or Celestion Neo Vintage 12 which would drop the weight to below it\'s original weight. The Vintage Celestion Neo is a Celestion Vintage 30 with a neo magnet and sounds brilliant.

On Nov-30-14 at 10:47:39 PST, seller added the following information:

The reserve was lowered to 2200.00 for those of you that asked. With the Weber, original footswitch and the way the amp sounds this is a very fair price as you know.
