French Bronze Vanity Set Hand Painted Mini Portrait Ivory Artist Signed Vely For Sale

You are offerding on a French vanity set that includes the hand mirror and the brush. Both pieces have hand painted insets signed by the artist, Vely. I\'m not sure if this is the listed artist Anatole Vely or not. If so, some of his paintings have been sold at Christie\'s. The signatures are very similar. The miniatures are painted on a grained material which resembles bone or ivory or maybe even celluloid. I am not sure of the substance.
The enameling is damaged on both pieces. I have placed purple fabric over the Guilloche enameling but you can see the uncovered pieces in picture 5 to assess the damage yourself. The enameled pieces can be un-fastened from the inside once the mirror and brush are opened. The fabric can easily be removed if you wish to have the enamel restored.
I have looked at similar items online and on and I believe that the metal is gilt bronze however it could be brass. Please use your own judgement.
The mirror measures approximately 15\" long by 4.5\" wide at it\'s widest point. The brush measures approximately 9.5\" long by 2 5/8 wide at it\'s widest point.
I purchased this set in Mississippi about 20 years ago. It came from a dealer who purchased items from estates in Vicksburg and Natchez, MS. The pieces definitely came from a fine home.
