DOLL DESCRIPTIONS:

PONYTAILS:

#3 Barbie, blondeponytail with brown eyeliner wearing Sophisticated Lady #993: Doll is beautifulwith the typical fading-to-white skin. Her only flaw is a haircut from long agoand a slight eyebrow rub on the left side...the end of the eyebrow is there butI don\'t think it shows in the pictures. Eyelashes have faint rubs, as well. Shehas some brown around her earring holes probably due to the way she has faded. She has most of her finger and toenail paint, some minor dimpling on her legsthat does not detract in any way from her beauty. “Sophisticated Lady” ensembleis complete and excellent!

#4 Barbie, blondeponytail wearing Commuter Set #916: Doll has lovely, poodle bangs but has hadthe curl cut off the end of her ponytail. Ponytail is still long. She has asmall amount of green-ear mostly covered by pearl earrings. I hadn’t noticedprior to this but she also has a slit about a quarter inch long at the base ofher neck on the right side – using a magnifying glass, it is visible. (This wasnot mentioned in the description when I bought her!) This isn’t a neck split;it is more like a cut and I don\'t think it goes the whole way through as herhead is still tight on her neck and poses fine. She has a few pin pricks on hertorso and a couple of scratches on her right hip. She is on her proper Barbie™solid body with light mold marks at the hips. Face, finger and toenail paint isvery good with light rubs to her upper lip. “Commuter Set” Is complete withexcellent fabric pieces. The navy blue shoes are the early “TM Version” wherethe right shoe is marked Japan. Shoes show a little wear but display well. Setincludes short white tricot gloves and white plastic gloves. The hatbox showssome wear and the top and bottom pieces are loose. It still displaysbeautifully but please handle with care! The lovely hat has some (sun?) fadingand a little fraying but looks wonderful all the same. Necklace and snakebracelet show the usual effects of aging.

#4 Barbie, blondeponytail wearing lace variation Plantation Belle #966: Beautiful, unique doll! This doll has a very rare soft vinyl body with nipples (that is to say, herbreasts are much more \"pointy\" than my other dolls\' breasts!) You canactually compress her torso easily! This is an authentic Mattel doll and she ison her proper Barbie™ body which has retained its pinkish color other than agradual darkening of the legs. She has lovely face paint with a very slighteyelash rub and light lip rubs. The curl has been cut off the bottom of herponytail but it is still quite long. She looks beautiful in the very rare LACEVARIATION Plantation Belle ensemble. The ensemble is excellent and complete!Hat is lovely and has some bend left in the hatband; purse is also in greatcondition and jewelry is complete including necklace, snake bracelet and pearlearrings. The TM shoes are so pale pink you have to put them on something whiteto see the pink. I believe these pieces to be all original to this ensemble. Ihave included a “regular” Plantation Belle dress that is slightly TLC (next tono pink color left and small slit in the skirt in the back) as a bonus item.

#4 Barbie, blondeponytail wearing TM version of Evening Splendor #961: She has lovely poodlebangs but, again, the curl has been cut from the bottom of her ponytail. Shehas interesting hair in that it has darker blonde streaks throughout. It’s verycute! She is on her proper Barbie™ body with nipples. Slight eyelash rub onright side and rubs to her upper lip. Nail polish is great, toenail polish ismostly absent. She has some light dimpling to legs and the usual mold marks atthe hips. The TM “Evening Splendor” outfit is awesome! The gold thread is verybright and the fur trim on overcoat and hat is full with no missing pearls onthe hat. Graduated pearl necklace, snake bracelet, pearl earrings and shorttricot gloves are in great condition. The brown OT shoes are the TM version, aswell.

#4 Barbie, brunette ponytail wearing Busy Gal #981: This girl is a bit of a mystery to me.I sent her picture to my favorite Barbie reference website and confirmed thatshe is a #4 but she has no flocking on her scalp (???) She is on a Barbie ™body and has soft poodle bangs. Of course (sigh…) the bottom curl is missingbut her ponytail is still quite thick and long. Her eye color is very paleblue, nearly white, and this makes her quite striking! She has some very lightgreen around her ears, some missing nail paint on her left hand, very littletoenail paint and some rubs to her lips. She has some green at the base of hertorso in the front and could use a good body scrub! The Busy Gal ensemble iscomplete except for the sketches. The portfolio shows some wear to corners buthas all ties. Black glasses have both arms attached. They will open but arestiff and I did not want to force them to put them on the doll.

#5 Barbie, brunette ponytail wearing Bride’s Dream #947: Finally, a doll without ahaircut! She has the hard curl bangs and soft ponytail with TONS of curl on theends! Top knot may be original, I haven’t taken it down to check. She has thematte complexion, absolutely no greasiness! She is on the correct Barbie® body.Face paint is lovely, a little missing lip color on her top lip. Some missingpaint on her right fingernails and both toenails. Bride’s Dream ensemble islovely and complete. Two small splits in the chiffon in the front of the dressand on in the back…not noticeable unless you are looking for them. A fewmissing pearls on veil but they can be positioned so they are not visible onthe top of her head. I am including the huge crinoline that makes this dressvery full.

#6 or #7 (can’ttell them apart!) Barbie, brunette ponytail wearing Wedding Wonder #1849: Yetanother haircut but still enough for a ponytail. Hard curl bangs (and a lot ofthem!) with soft ponytail. Her left eyebrow has a slight rub but other thanthat, face paint is great, as is her nail and toe pain t. Nice clean body withtwo small red stains on her behind. Wedding Wonder ensemble is complete withclosed toe shoes. The veil has one very tiny hole and can be positioned in theback so it can’t be seen. This ensemble was produced later than most of the othersbut I just love the very 1960’s look of it!

KENS:

#1 Ken, blondeflocked hair wearing Tuxedo #787: Ken makes a great display doll with only afew light rubs to his flocking. Face paint is all there and his stance leansslightly to the left but he can stand on his own. He is on a Ken™ body. HisTuxedo is in great shape! The bowtie and cummerbund still have some stretchleft in the elastic!

#2(?) Ken, brownpainted hair wearing Dreamboat #785: Ken has a few small paint rubs to hishair, great face paint and a straight stance. He can also stand on his own. Heis on his ©1960 Hawthorne, CA, body. Dreamboat outfit is complete. The hat hassome fraying around the edges but has a great hatband with feather lure intact.

BUBBLECUTS:

Blonde wearingFriday Nite Date #979: Beautiful doll with beautiful paint! Very small lash rubon right side. She is on a Barbie® body. Friday Nite date ensemble is completeand in great condition for display!

White Gingerwearing Dinner at 8 #946: Hair and lips have oxidized somewhat, lips are white.Great paint with only small lash and lip rubs, fingernail paint is great andtoenail paint is fair. Dinner at 8 outfit is excellent.

White Gingerwearing American Airlines Stewardess #984: Hair and lips have oxidizedsomewhat, lips are white. Great paint with only small lash and lip rubs, fingernail paint is great and toenail paint is fair. She is on a Barbie® body.American Airlines Stewardess outfit is excellent except carryon is missing thezipper pull and the shoulder purse has a very small crack in the back. Neitherdefect take away from the great look of this ensemble!

White Gingerwearing Let’s Dance #978: Hair and lips have oxidized somewhat, lips are white.Great paint with only small lash rubs and lip rubs, fingernail paint is greatand toenail paint is fair. She is on a Midge/Barbie body. She has a few smallscrapes on her upper back. Let’s Dance outfit is excellent! White purse has afew tiny spots that will probably wash off; the single pearl drop necklace’schain has tarnished.

Brunette wearingMovie Date #933: Lovely face paint with coral lips and nails. Very little paintmissing from lips and nails. Her hair seems a little short on the right side, maybe was cut although seller assured me it wasn’t. It actually makes for acool “do.” Her left arm is swingy, will only hold a post straight up. She is ona great Midge/Barbie body with a small purplish mark in the middle of the backof her right thigh. Movie Date dress appears to have never been played with andis like new. It still has the paper inspection tag. I displayed the dress onthis doll behind glass for a few months, only.

Brunette wearingCareer Girl #954: Lovely face paint with coral lips and nails. Next to no paintloss on face and fingernails. Toenails have almost no paint. Limbs are tightbut, using a magnifying glass, I see a very small nick out of her left toes. Not really visible with the naked eye. She is on a Barbie® body. Career Girloutfit is very good! No issues to mention.

Brunette wearingRed Flare #939 and Silken Flame #977: Same description as other two above, facepaint is great, little paint on right fingernails; both feet have very littletoenail paint. She is on a Barbie® body. Her left arm is loose in the downposition but holds pose after lifting about an inch. Red Flare and Silken Flameensembles are great and display beautifully. Note: No dimpled purse for SilkenFlame.

MIDGE DOLLS:

Midge wearingOrange Blossom #987: This Midge is the rare, “sideways-glancing with teeth”version. She is blonde (I think!) and is missing a couple of freckles on herright cheek. Her lip paint is a little thin but you can still see her “teeth.”Her Midge/Barbie body is in good condition. She looks great in Orange Blossom andmakes a fine bridesmaid.

Fashion QueenBarbie wearing Solo in the Spotlight #982: In overall great condition! Allpaint is nearly 100% present but her blue headband is missing. I also do nothave her swimsuit or turban but she has all three wigs and her wig stand – allin good condition. Solo in the Spotlight also in great condition and completeexcept the top of the microphone has broken off and is lost.

SWIRLS:

Blonde wearingSenior Prom #951: She has lovely, lemon blonde hair that has, of course, beencut but still thick and can make a nice ponytail. She has lovely teal eyelinerwith very minimal paint rubs to her lashes. She has sweet, pinkish lips thathave mostly worn off but still look great. She is on the correct Midge/Barbiebody with some light green staining on her shins and feet and some pink stainson the tops of her thighs in the back. Nail and toe paint is great. Senior Promoutfit is excellent with green OT shoes and long white gloves.

Brunette wearingJunior Prom #1614: Lovely doll with the very same problems as her blondecounterpart. Hair has been trimmed, eye paint is great, lips are faded, fingernail paint is about 60% with next to no toenail paint. She is on herMidge/Barbie body with some very light pink stains on her one thigh and backsof her calves. Stains are VERY faint! Junior Prom dress has a few small tearsin the chiffon overlay, visible only if you put your hand under the chiffon.Otherwise, dress is beautiful. Ensemble is complete with pearl teardropnecklace, gloves and shoes. The verdict is still out on the stole. In brightlight the lining looks tan or off-white; in low light it has a very slightpinkish hue. I cannot guarantee this is the proper stole!

AMERICAN GIRLS:

Titian AG wearingBlack Magic #1609: This is a beautiful doll! Makeup is gorgeous, fingernailpaint is near 100% but none on toenails as is typical of this doll. No chewmarks or flaws on feet but she does have a swingy left hip. Her leg is notfalling off but it is loose and wobbles. Both legs will hold a pose and bothknees bend and click three times. The lettering on her behind is raised. Thecomplete Black Magic ensemble is nearly flawless, still has the paperinspection tag in the dress. One glove has a tiny, loose seam at the top hem thatis invisible when on Barbie’s hand.

Blonde AGwearing Saturday Matinee #1615: She is stunning but does have a few flaws. There are some light rubs to her eyelashes and most of her lipstick is gone orfaded. She has most of her fingernail polish and none on her feet. There are acouple of little nicks on the INSIDES of her ankles, none on her toes, and onepinhole in the inside of her right calf. Legs are tight at the hips but herleft knee has a small scratch (not a split that I can see) and does not bendand click; the right one is fine. There is also a small piece of hair cut fromthe left side of her head near her bangs which makes her an excellent andbeautiful model for the complete Saturday Matinee ensemble as you can see inthe pictures. The lettering on her behind is indented. There are no flaws toreport for the Matinee outfit, gloves are MINT, fur pieces are full and softand I’m sure there are some pulled thread somewhere on this suit but I can’tsee them. The purse if beautiful but, of course, fragile so please handle withcare.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, SKIPPER:

She is a lovely,lemon-blonde 1st issue, straight-leg doll with no visible flaws. She comes withher original box that does show some wear and has had corners taped by herprior owner. She also has her original booklet, swimsuit, shoes, headband, brush and comb, and gold wire stand. Her hair is not the thick, coarser hairbut the thinner, silkier kind. She has two complete ensembles: Dreamtime #1909and Red Sensation #1901. Dreamtime is near mint but phone cord has beenrepaired and is a little short. Red Sensation is lovely but the hat has lightfraying around a few edges. The bendableheadband is still flexible. Included are her underskirt and a little pair ofpanties as bonus items.
