Important GEORGIAN Solid Silver LARGE SUGAR BOWL Hallmarked 1803 Sterling NR
Gorgeous Design - London - LARGE - Superb - 6 troy oz.

This is a really lovely LARGE GEORGIAN solid sterling silver sugar bowl which was made in London England in1803 by the illustrious Georgian silversmith, George Gray at his workshops in Billeter Square.It has a fabulous circular shape, is raised on anelegant steppedbase and has gorgeousembossed acanthusdecoration to the sides and base. It is NOT engraved to the cartouches. The bowl measures 4 5/8\" in diameter and stands2 1/2\" tall. It is VERY substantial - it weighs174.3 grams -well over 5 1/2troy oz.

The bowl is in very good condition with just the usual surface scratching and NOdents or repairs andNO dings andNO distortion and NO repairs- SUPERB. It is hallmarkedGG, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark),crowned leopard head, H, George III duty mark showing that it was hallmarked in London in 1803. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. A really lovely and very rare LARGE AND SUBSTANTIAL GEORGIAN bowl in superb condition after 210 years as you can see from the photographs - at a VERY low start and .
