Up for sale today is a complete Marx Train including two engines,six cars, track and accessories. The grouping includes the following:
The Marx #1 engine, The William Crooks. This locomotive is a highly detailed replica of a civil war style locomotive built by Smith and Jackson in 1861 at Paterson, New Jersey. The locomotive runs great, has an operating headlight, produces volumes of smoke (see pictures), and changes direction smoothly. This locomotive is not for your trophy shelf. It has been restored and the paint touched up and several pieces have been repaired and replaced. The engine is being sold \"as-is\".While certainly not perfect, this engine will add character to your layout.
A Marx red plastic steam locomotive. This later engine was probably produced by another manufacturer under license to Marx. The train has the Marx name on each side. The engine runs great. It shows moderate to heavy playwear and it appears there may be a piecemissing from two of the engines windows. Again, not a trophy piece but a unique engine for your collection.
Two Marx #3651 tenders. One of the tenders has the \"First Division\" printed on the side. The other tender is the Tales Of Wells Fargo. The logo on this tender is very light which is typical for this model. No damage on either of the tenders.
Four St. Paul & Pacific scale metal cars. There are two #1 baggage cars and two #3 passenger cars. The cars have minor paint touch ups and one car has a broken smokejack.
Also included is a Marx tunnel, bumper, 8 pieces of curved track, 10 pieces of straight track, a Marx switch, six telephone poles, a Marx semaphore and a Plasticville farm and station. All of these pieces are being sold as is and some parts may be missing.
