Main steam gauge for N&W railroad y5 locomotive Ashton all brass antique For Sale

This is a gauge I purchased that came from an estate sale in Roanoke Virginia. The seller said it was from an N&W engine. Overall width at the bezel is 7 1/4 inches. This gauge\'s face is 6 inches, which is 3/4 of an inch smaller than many of the gauges used on steam locomotives. This size was often used by the N&W on backheads crowded with instruments, piping and controls. Attached is an image of this exact size and type of gauge on an N&W Y5, a 2-8-8-2. The face is heavy brass with incised numbers and has original black enamel and white numbers. The factorycutout by the inlet nipple can be seen in the black and white photograph. The nipple is special order oversize and original with fine threads. This gauge has been calibrated, cleaned inside, tested on a dead weight gauge tester, and is accurate, ready to use or display.
