Manley William Owens (M W Owens) Circa 1880\'s 1 Gallon Cream Riser For Sale

I am very pleased to offer this signed M W Owens cream riser or milk crock as some would call it. This is a 1 gallon cream riser and is in excellent shape to be 130 years old. The only issue with this piece is several minor under the rim chips and where some uneducated human punched a hole to make a planter out of the pot so the water could drain. However, there are no other chips cracks or breaks. The pot is good and sound. Manley William Owens was the son of James J Owen. He turned pottery at E.A. Poe and Company in Fayetteville, NC during the 1880\'s. The mint museum only owns two pieces of his pottery since his signature is quite rare to come by.
