Up for sale is Late 19th Century US Cavalry McClellan leather Saddle with US marked leather covered wooden stirrups. The condition is good. The seat has scuff marks and no split seams. The hardware is brass and iron. The straps are cracked in places, worn in places. The brass buckles are original issue. It has baggage straps front and rear which are worn. This item is completely original to the best of our knowledge. We are not experts. You be the judge, please look very carefully at our closeup photos. Added on Sunday January 25, 2015 in response to a question:There are no apparent markings on the stirrup straps. There are no markings on the square safes behind the four inch rings. One of the two wooden stirrups is marked \"SPALDING\". Both wooden stirrups are the standard US type. Both leather stirrup covers are stitched two layers of leather. One is stamped \"E\" on the inside of the SPALDING stirrup leather. Added on Sunday January 25, 2015 The stand is custom made for these saddles. We have no idea how to ship it. If anyone is interested we would list it.
