PRE WWI IMPERIAL GERMAN INFANTRY OFFICER DEGEN SWORD IOD a/A-WWII VET BRINGBACK For Sale

Very good condition and guaranteed original pre WWI ImperialGerman Infantry Officer Dress Degen sword, referred to as the IOD a/A (AlterArt-Old Style). Maker marked WERYERSBERG KIRSCHBAUM & CO. SOLINGEN on theblade and dated 1888 on the spine. Complete with correct original scabbard.Sword was brought back by a WWII vet and has the 2nd ArmoredDivision insignia neatly engraved on the folding reverse guard. 33 ¼” blade hasoriginal bright finish with some brown stain streaks and a little scatteredgray, never sharpened. Brass fittings have beautiful patina, grip has tightwire wrap. Fitted in correct original leather scabbard that has brass throatand tip. Leather is soft and supple with nice original black finish and only alittle wear. Stitching and staples are nice and tight. Throat is engravedBERLIN 45. A very rare Imperial German IOD Degen with very intriguing WWII 2ndArmored Division bringback engraving that will make an outstanding addition toyour collection! Note: the 2nd Armored Division was actually thefirst American unit to enter the German capital.
