Ever had a cap fall off while shooting a black powder revolver or rifle? Maybe a fired cap wedged into the action? If so, a percussion cap keeper willreduce the chance of everhappening again. Not recommended for in-line rifles. When used on Colt type revolvers, cap keepers fill the recessed area around the nipple preventing the cap from falling off. On traditional percussion rifles, cap keepers grip the nipple below the cap creating a water tight seal and preventing the cap from falling off.
