RARE Antique T&B Godwin Alphabet ABC \"Christmas Day\" Plate , c.1830 For Sale

Very rare and hard to find, early antique alphabet or ABC plate titled \"Christmas Day\".Made by Thomas & Benjamin Godwin of England, circa 1830\'s.Center scene and alphabet border are finely engraved and printed in black transfer on white earthenware.Underside is incised \"T & B GODWIN NEW WHARFE\"5\" in diameter, and the depression is about 1/2\" deep.Shows typical age/use wear from over the years.....staining (especially in the center), fine crazing, an old rim chip (at 5 o\'clock), and a couple of rim nicks. Back is a bit \"grubby\" with staining and a few larger craze lines or possible hairline fractures that appear to be on the surface only. These are pictured for you. Please use the zoom feature to examine the photos carefully.Transfer is good and crisp. Note that the lettering in \"Christmas\" is a bit partial and misaligned, most likely a flaw in the transfer process.A recent estate find.Paypal payment is due within 48 hrs. of sale end. PLEASE NOTE: Upon closer inspection I have noticed a faint hairline on the front of the plate. It is located just below the U and V on the slope of the plate in the white area. It is in the same area that has hairlines on the back.
