DESCRIPTION: RARE & WONDERFUL vintage folk art pottery jug made by Alabama potter: Daniel Esker of Marion County.The jug is stamped within an oval frame on the shoulder:D.E. SUMMERFORD4BEXAR, ALA.Note the \"error\" on the stamp.... IT IS UPSIDE DOWN... That makes for a real folk art piece! The jug has two blue bands encircling the shoulder. The shape of the jug is the classic \"beehive\" form and it is quite large, being four gallons in capacity. Bexar Alabama is a real \"nothing-nowhere\" small town located directly west of Cullman Alabama,at the Alabama /Mississippi border. (to the east of Tupelo, Ms.) This jug is considered quite rare and is normally found in a two gallon size.This is the first I have seen in a four gallon. A great piecefor the advanced collector... you\'ll be proud to own it!PLEASE NOTE: This jug may be picked up directly at the Jackson Mississippi bottle show on January 17th.
