RAREST Victorian Silver Plated Figural Turtle Open Master Salt Cellar Porcelain For Sale

This is an extremely RARE Figural Master Open Salt Cellar. Manufactured in America during the Victorian period when a vast majority of napkin rings and other table setting items were made by various companies in different figural forms. This one is a large two piece master salt. Made sometime in the late 1800\'s. It is very similar to Pairpoints turtle. But it is only marked with shape number 420 on the bottom. It has a basket attached to its back with great detailed floral band border and applied handle with floral leaf design on the base of the handles and also wrapped around the top of the handle. It has a hole in the center of the basket. The original porcelain insert bowl has a nipple which is meant to fit down inside it. it is very high quality and very old. Not a vintage or modern repro. The porcelain is bright white and painted and gilt around the outside edge. I couldn\'t find one there anywhere like it to match. It measures approx. 4-1/4\" by 2-1/2\". It really is amazing to see in person and to hold. Excellent condition with no damage at all. It comes fresh to the market out of a New Jersey Estate with a HUGE collection of open salts including RARE Art Glass ones. This is the one I got.
