This listing is for a full replacement set of premium electrolytic capacitors for your Fender Twin Reverb, Quad Reverb, Dual Showman Reverb or Super Six Reverb amplifier.

It is standard procedure for amp techs to replace the electrolytic capacitors in an amp every ten years or so. These caps perform two duties. The filter caps literally filter the high voltage used by your amplifier. Good fresh filter caps greatly reduce hum and background noise, & keep your bottom end response tight. The electrolytic bypass caps in the preamp determine the operating & tonal characteristics of the preamp tubes. These caps wear out & drift over time. If left unused, these caps can dry up & malfunction rather quickly. This can cause serious damage to your amplifier.

Filter Caps for the power supply are German made F&T caps (Fischer & Tausche - F&T have been making premium caps since the 40\'s). I\'ve recently discovered that - as far as power filters go - these caps are electronically superior to the popular Sprague Atoms. They have more accurate capacitance readings and consistently lower ESR (equivalent series resistance). Low ESR facilitates a more efficient & accurate circuit, enabling better tone. As power filters, F&Ts perform BEAUTIFULLY in vintage Fenders.

Cathode bypass caps are all Nichicon. These little guys do a great job in the preamp, allowing full, musical tone capability for your preamp tubes.

Optimize your power tube performance with matched resistor sets:

The resistors on the power tubes of vintage Fender amps take some serious abuse. They handle a lot of juice and are subject to further physical abuse from the rising heat of the power tubes. This causes them to burn & drift over time.

It is important to match the resistors on your power tubes if you want the best tone possible. This is especially important if you shell out the big bucks for matched sets of power tubes or vintage NOS matched sets. What’s the point of matched tubes if they are all being fed different operating voltages?

Greatly enhance your tone with signal capacitor upgrade kits:

If you are looking to get the most out of your silverface Fender, it’s a good idea to upgrade the coupling (signal) caps throughout the circuit. Doing this will greatly enhance the clarity, richness & sustain of your amp.
