Excellent condition original Remington Lee Model 1899 riflonet that has sharp clear Remington address markings on the left side of theblade. 8 ¼” blade has beautiful original bright finish with a few spots of grayand was never sharpened. Remaining metal finish is original bright with alittle gray and brown. Wood grips have original finish and a good tight fit.Lock button functions fine. Fitted in correct original leather scabbard thathas steel throat and tip and the U.S. military style swiveling belthanger/hook. Leather is soft and supple with a little normal wear and is unitmarked “2 72 5”. Steel fittings have nice original blue metal finish. Stitchingand staples are nice and tight. This beautiful bayonet may have been one ofthose issued with the Michigan National Guard militia Model 1899 Remington Lee riflesin .30-40 Krag caliber. It fits perfectly on said rifle, and also worksperfectly on a No. 5 Rolling Block military rifle. A great example of an earlyRemington bayonet that will make an excellent addition to your collection.
