Besides the 1974 serial number, this reel has all the requirements for a first model: the trapezoidal knob, the cone shaped bail end, and the indented plate logo on the cover plate. The reel has been cleaned inside and out, and the drag disks have been replaced with original parts. A spool arbor is included. I even took out the bearing and treated it with Hot Sauce oil. The reel is so smooth the handle seems to jump forward as you crank. It displays very well from one side but has rash on the other. As much as these are collectible, the beauty of these reeIs is in their use. This one has a good bail trip, perfect drag, andgood click/anti-reverse and could be the perfect user.
