Rare Smithfield Chrome Red NC Pottery Ribbon Handle Vase Cole 1930\'s NICE: $204.26
Here\'s a drop dead gorgeous Smithfield Ribbon Handle NC Pottery vase from the 1930\'s. Vases with ribbon handles are extremely hard to find, and are a \"Cole\' Family trait. Smithfield employed a number of potters, including Bill Gordy (until about 1935), C.B. & Farrell Craven, Guy Daughtry, and even the likes of Charlie Craven and Thurston Cole. We believe this shape was made by Thurston, as the shop owner and other Cole Family member, Herman Cole was a guy that absolutely hated to turn pottery. Herman preferred the comforts of the glaze house when he had his druthers. This beautiful cherry chrome red vase stands 8\" tall by 6\" across the handles, and about 4\" across the mouth. There are no chips, cracks, or any repairs to this vase. There is a single, and very small glaze flake on the rim. It can be see in the overhead photo shot. Vase ships USPS Priority OR Parcel Select (Economy) Insured Mail, your choice. All items are now also available for local pick up at our store, Picker\'z Antiques, in downtown Stoneville, NC. Hours are 10-4, Tues, Thurs-Sat. Other days by chance or appointment. Thanks for looking, and good luck should you choose to offer on it. Ed
