SUPERB SOLID SILVER MOUNTED HANNAH BARLOW HM1881 DOULTON BISCUIT BARREL ANTIQUE For Sale

This fantastic Doulton Lambeth Hannah Barlow biscuit barrel stands 150m (6\'\') to the top of the lid x 115mm (4.5\'\') across and weighs 593 grams. It has a solid sterling silver lid and swing handle and rim all of which are marked for sterling silver London 1881 with the makers mark R.F.for Rupert Favell. The body of the barrel is beautifully sgraffito decorated with 5 horses grazing and eating the low branches of a tree in a mountainous background with a raised border top and bottom. The base is signed with Hannah Barlow\'s initials as well as the date 1881, the Doulton Lambeth mark and numerous other initials numbers and letters. It is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration to the body, a few bruises and marks to the silver rim commensurate with age and I believe solid silver mounts were only used on the best pieces. A fine example of one of the most famous Doulton artists work in a brilliant fresh to the market condition.
