Scarce US m1873 Trowel Bayonet for Trapdoor Rifle Entrenching Tool Indian Wars For Sale

Original and very good, US model 1873 trowel bayonet. Total length is 14 3/8\". This was designed to be used on the rifle or in habd as an entrenching tool, of course it could also be used as a weapon. The socket still turns as it should for locking on the rifle. Ver faint Pat. date of \'72 still on the grip. Much of the original blued finish remains w/some scattered light pitting. Original leather over metal scabbard w/ \"US\" rosette, missing the brass tip and showing wear, but still very serviceable. Very nice Indian Wars era bayonet.
