Very unusual blue and white parian
\'York Minster\' stylejug or ewer, c 1850.
Many, many white parian versions of this are listed, but I can\'t find a blue and white one depicted.
Charles Meigh and Sons are associated with this pattern, but their impressed mark doesn\'t appear to the base. However, the detail is very fine. Only the impressed numbers, 12 over 16 appear underneath.
An example of this jug in white is held by the Victorian and Albert Museum.
As per the condition report, there are some nibbles to the fine edges here and there, and a chip to the inner rim of the neck which isn\'t visible from the outside. None of the slight nibbles etc are very visible, and certainly do\'t detract from what\'s a very striking piece of Staffordshire pottery.
DIMENSIONS: 9\" tall and 6\" from the rear of the top ring of the handle, forward to the tip of the spout.
