NICE WEST GERMAN  \"HOFBRAUHAUS\"  ONE DAY CUCKOO CLOCK  (ca 1979)     You are offerding on a nice West German one day cuckoo clock made in 1979.  This is the \"HOFBRAUHAUS\" model.  I picked this one up at an estate sale about a month ago.  This clock measures 12\" tall, 12 3/4\" wide, and 6 1/2\" deep.  There are a few cosmetic issues with the case, but they are easy to fix.  One of the shutters on the right side are missing along with the flower box underneath.  The shutters are made of plastic but a wood one could easily be manufactured and installed.  There is also one wood strip on the roof that is missing but this too can easily be manufactured.  The movement is very clean and has been lubricated and runs well.  When the music box plays there is a clicking sound.  The little plastic gear on the governor has a little crack in it.  The music box still plays but the governor will probably need to be replaced soon.  They can be purchased on , Merritts, or Timesavers.  There is a little bit of paint overspray on the roof where someone probably painted a wall.  This is one of my favorite animated cuckoo clocks.  Good luck and happy offerding.
