Very Old Antique Maggini Violin For Restoration & Silver Tourte Bow For Sale

Here\'s an interesting old violin that surely has seen a lot of play over the years. Looks like it may have been played without a chinrest at some point from the discoloration in that area. There are three tags on the inside of the violin. One tag, what remains of it, reads Giovan Paolo Magin Brescia 16??. I can\'t make out the rest of the date. Most likely the violin was made in the 1800\'s in the style of Maggini. There is a very small tag in the middle of the back, worn, that looks like it has been written in French. There is a small tag visible through the right side f hole with a number that looks like 6624, could be 5624, the first digit is worn. Looks like a catalog number. The violin has fancy inlay on the back and double inlaid purfling. Inside is lined and blocked. This violin comes with an old bow. The bow looks to have a slight bend to the left which should be straightened and will need new hair, etc. The frog and button are silver mounted and there is a faint stamp on the side that reads TOURTE. I do not see any other markings on it. I have a couple more pictures of the bow if you need them. This should make a nice project for a luthier or a nice old violin for the collector.
