Vintage 1898 Spanish American War Sampson West Indies Medal For Sale

This 1898 Sampson Medal was awarded to Robert Phillips from Denver, CO. He was a Navy fireman 2nd class and served aboard the USS New Orleans during the West Indies Campaign. The medal and bars are in good condition and completely original. You may zoom into the pictures to see details. The top bar reads USS New Orleans with three Santiago engagement bars dated June 6, June 14, and June 16. The ribbon is faded on both sides but is otherwise in very good condition. There are a couple of small loose threads at the top where it is stitched but absolutely no fraying of the ribbon. The name engraving on the edge is Robert Phillips F-2-C.
