For sale is a very nice Sears Silvertone 1482 tube amplifier, dated 1964. These amps were made by Danelectro for Sears. This amp is in very good condition, both cosmetically and electronically. All parts are original to this amp, including the tubes, except for the 6AU6, which is vintage, and a new cathode resistor and capacitor, which were replaced to bring the output tube bias into spec with today's higher AC line voltages. A new grounded AC power cord has been installed. All tubes have been tested and are in good operating condition. The original high voltage capacitor(s) are still in place, with no trace of hum to be heard. The chassis is very clean, as shown in the photos. The cabinet is solid, with no damage of any kind. The cloth covering (can't really call it "Tolex"!!) is also very nice, with only a few nicks and scuffs; the covering on the corners is mostly intact as well, which is pretty amazing for one of these amps. The grill cloth is also original, with no tears. The control panel has some minor tarnish, which may be possible to clean up, but is not visible in the photos. One knob is not original. The 12" speaker is original, and does not have any cuts or damage, but could probably use a recone, as the cone seems pretty dry, and a recone would improve the overall sound. The amp sounds great, and has the breakup starting around 4 or so, and is pretty loud. The back panel is missing, sorry. Tremolo works great, but no footswitch is included, although any standard one-button switch will work fine. The amp will be well-packed, and shipping will be via UPS Ground or Fedex Ground, insured for the selling value. sale is open to US buyers only; Check my response, offer with confidence, and don't miss your chance to own this cool vintage amp!
