As near as I have been able to figure out, I believe this doll to be a "Candy Kid" doll from somewhere around the mid 1940's or early 1950's. She is all composition. She is about 12 inches tall. She has sleep eyes with lashes intact. The coloring of the eyes look brownish to me. She has an adorable little face. She is wearing the dress she had on when I got her and also the hat too and the shoes and socks as well. I took the dress off to show you her body. I see a crack or split by the upper leg and there is a small spot on the head where there is a part of the paint chipping off. I did take off the shoes to check her feet and the feet are fine. When I did this I see the socks are dirty(there is a line where the part in the shoe is clean and the sock out of the shoe is dirty. The dress doesn't have any spots, but I am sure if you woolite the dress there would be dirty water(but it doesn't appear hugely dirty). The hat she wears is adorable too just as the dress is. There are 2 white buttons in the back and of course there is the attached tie for the bow in the back. Now I see on the body crazing, but there is no cracking except what I mentioned on the head (see scan). The box she came in is here and it says "Candy Kids". The box indicates that the dress is "Pink", but as you can see she wears a blue dress(which again was on her when I got her). Looks like the number on the box is 4226 to me. Box also says "made in USA". Her arms seem tight, but her head is a little looser (not overly loose though).
