WAYMON COLE North Carolina Pottery ACCORDIAN Multi Stepped Vase JB Cole For Sale

Stunning! Vintage Accordian / Multi Stepped vase made by the late, master potter, Waymon Cole. According to my sources, this styled vase was so technically difficult to produce that only Waymon Cole and a very few of his potters, were able to master this form. Waymon started signing his pieces in the 1980\'s , so it being unsigned, doesn\'t surprise me, however it would tend to lead one to believe that it was made before that time.

Measures approximately 6.75 inches high and 7.25 inches in diameter.

I have visually and tactically inspected the piece and find no chips or cracks, there are also no glaze pops. I do feel an unevenness in the glaze as should be expected with a drip type glaze of this nature and there are at least 3 high points in the glaze. The underside has a very sloppy bottom, with no impressions, and that was filed smooth and there is an edge with a 1/8th inch spot of missing glaze. (please see the photos.)
