    A review from a working drummer

    For the price, this is a good snare. No, it's not a DW or Craviotto, and I've paid more for premium snare strainers than I did for this drum, but to put it simply: Add a decent snare head (like an Evans Power Center Reverse Dot, or other premium head) and you could gig with this snare. Lubricate everything, as the action on the strainer and the tension rods are lacking ease of movement. A little WD-40 will work wonders. I like the simple, understated "Oak" wrap finish, not gaudy or cheap looking.

    It's round and makes noise then you hit it.

    It's a $43 snare drum. It's not very easy to get a good sound out of the this drum. But if you have the time and willing to work at it, you can get a decent tone out of it. The stock skins are garbage, replace them right out of the box. That alone will help 100%.

    Snare Looks Great - Excellent Value!

    I messed around with the drum for a bit before taking off the snares, swapping out the heads, and adding an internal trigger to use it as an "electronic" snare drum. Hardware seems nice, drum looks great, I'm super-pleased with the purchase.
